Board-level fault paths
A proper board diagnosis starts by ruling out power supplies, adapters, batteries, cables, memory, storage and connected devices. Board-level testing is used when those checks point to a circuit, connector, firmware or component fault.

Board repair is not intended to erase storage, but a no-power computer can also have storage damage, encryption or a soldered-storage design that affects data access. State that the data is important during intake so recovery risk is considered before firmware, reset or repair work.
Shut the device down, disconnect external power and do not keep testing or charging it. Continued power can accelerate electrical damage and corrosion. Do not use heat, rice or cleaning liquids inside the device.
