Give your important files a backup.

Photos, documents and personal projects need a plan beyond one computer. Mashfix helps review your files, set up an approved backup option and explain how to check that it is working.

A backup you can understand.

01

Know what needs protecting

Review where important files are stored, which devices hold them and whether an existing backup can be accessed.

02

Choose a practical option

Discuss supported external-drive or cloud backup options around your file size, equipment, internet access and preferences. Any hardware or subscription needs are confirmed separately.

03

Check more than a status light

Review the initial backup and, where supported, restore a sample file. Learn where to find backup status and what needs attention after the visit.

Start with the files that matter.

Tell us what you want to protect and whether the computer and files are working normally. Useful details include:

  • Computer models and where your important files are saved.
  • Existing external drives, cloud subscriptions or backup software.
  • Any missing files, backup errors or storage warnings.

Keep passwords and recovery codes out of the request form.

Setup today, checks over time.

A backup needs continued attention. This service covers the agreed setup and checks; it does not include ongoing monitoring or guarantee protection from every failure. If files are already missing or storage is failing, a recovery assessment may be the appropriate first step.

Before you book

Should I use an external drive or cloud backup?

That depends on the files, available storage, internet connection and how you want to restore them. We review supported options and any separate hardware or subscription costs before approved setup.

Is cloud file syncing the same as a backup?

Not necessarily. A sync service may copy deletions or unwanted changes to other devices. We review the service’s available version history, retention and restore features rather than assuming every synced file is protected.

Can you check an existing backup?

Yes. Include the backup software or device and any error messages. The review can include recent backup status and a sample restore when the files and system allow it; this is not a guarantee that every file can be recovered.

Does Mashfix monitor the backup after the visit?

Ongoing monitoring is not included in this setup service. We explain the agreed configuration and checks you can perform. Businesses can request a separate backup review through Business IT Support.
