Liquid damage repair for laptops and phones in DFW.
Water, coffee, soda or another spill? Keep the device off and tell Mashfix what happened. We assess corrosion, damaged components and data risks before recommending repair.

Stop power attempts. Protect the next repair option.
If safe to do so, disconnect charging cables and accessories and switch the device off. Do not plug it in again to see whether it still works. Avoid heat, rice, charging-port tools and attempts to open a sealed device. If it is unusually hot, swollen, smoking or hissing, stop handling it and seek emergency guidance as appropriate.
Tell us the type of liquid, when it happened, whether the device was powered or charged afterward and what stopped working. An iPhone liquid alert concerns moisture detected at the connector or accessory; it does not by itself confirm internal board damage. Apple's liquid-detection guidance covers that specific alert. Internal spills and malfunctioning devices need their own assessment.
Laptop spill repair
Windows laptops and MacBooks.
Liquid may pass through the keyboard and reach the battery connections, trackpad, display connectors or motherboard. We review the exact model and symptoms, inspect the affected areas and determine which electrical or assembly checks are needed.
The repair may involve suitable cleaning, a keyboard or other assembly replacement, connector work or microsoldering. Cleaning is proposed when appropriate to the damage; it is not a promise that failed components will work again. Windows laptop and MacBook designs require different parts and procedures.
Water exposure can affect charging, touch response, display, audio, cameras or board circuits. Mashfix evaluates the model and damage before confirming available repair options. Seals and water-resistance ratings are not proof that an exposed phone is undamaged, particularly after wear, impact or an earlier repair.
Tell us whether the phone was submerged, splashed or showing a moisture warning, and which functions changed. Parts availability, internal corrosion and data-access requirements can limit the practical repair. We do not promise restoration of the original water-resistance rating after service.
Liquid can affect power input, charging circuitry, connectors and several board components. A device that briefly turns on may still have corrosion or an intermittent electrical fault. We assess the relevant power path before suggesting a battery, connector or board repair.
02
Charging faults or liquid alerts
A wet charging connector, residue, damaged cable or internal circuit problem can interrupt charging. A phone's liquid alert does not by itself prove that the motherboard has failed. Describe the alert and exposure history so the connector and internal damage can be evaluated appropriately.
03
Keyboard, touch or display problems
Spills may affect a laptop keyboard, touchpad, screen connections or a phone's display and touch system. Replacing the visibly affected part may leave another fault unresolved. The assessment separates assembly damage from connector or board problems before a quote is approved.
04
Corrosion and recurring faults
Moisture and residue may remain beneath connectors or components even when the outside feels dry. Previous cleaning, continued use and repeated charging attempts affect the repair path. We explain visible damage, further testing needs and any uncertainty about a dependable repair.
Files or photos first? Tell us before repair begins.
Some customers want the device working again; others mainly need photos, documents or business files. Those goals may require different decisions. Do not reset, restore or reinstall software on a liquid-damaged device to test it. Encryption, failed storage and damage to the original board may affect what can be recovered.
State your data priority in the request. We discuss whether ordinary repair, a data-recovery evaluation or another path is appropriate before work that could affect access to your files. Recovery and device repair are assessed separately, and neither is guaranteed.
Assessment, approval, then testing.
Send the device type, exact model, exposure history, symptoms and your city. Include any earlier repair or cleaning attempts. Keep passwords, device PINs and recovery keys out of the public form.
For Apple devices, liquid-damage and component-level board work are independent repair assessments. Mashfix's Apple Independent Repair Provider status applies to eligible out-of-warranty iPhone and Mac service and does not make every liquid-damage repair an Apple program repair.
Inspect and assess
We review the history, affected components, board condition and data concerns before proposing the next step.
Review your options
You receive the findings, recommended work, parts, estimated timing, price and risks. Paid repair proceeds after approval.
Test the approved work
Testing follows the original symptoms and affected functions. If a reliable repair is impractical, we explain the findings and alternatives.
Repair intake across the metroplex
Liquid-damage service across Dallas–Fort Worth.
Customers in Dallas, Fort Worth, Irving, Euless, Arlington, Grand Prairie, Plano, Frisco, Denton, McKinney, Richardson, Garland, Carrollton, Grapevine, Keller and surrounding communities can request an assessment. The DFW city directory covers communities across Dallas, Tarrant, Denton, Collin, Rockwall, Kaufman, Ellis, Johnson, Parker, Wise, Hunt counties and provides real branch contacts.
Call to confirm the receiving branch and visit availability before traveling. Ask about pickup and drop-off arrangements for your address and device condition. A service-area listing is not a separate laboratory; assessment and repair are routed to the appropriate bench.
Sometimes. Repairability depends on the liquid, exposure time, affected components, corrosion, previous power attempts and parts availability. A spill on a keyboard and liquid reaching a power-management circuit require different work. Mashfix assesses the damage before recommending cleaning, component repair, assembly replacement or another path. A successful outcome cannot be promised from the symptom alone.
What if the device still works after the spill?
Working briefly does not establish that the inside is dry or free of damage. Stop using and charging it and arrange an assessment. Tell us when the exposure occurred and what changed afterward. Avoid powering it on just to show the fault or create a backup; if the files matter, discuss the data priority first.
Does rice or drying overnight fix liquid damage?
Drying does not remove every residue or repair an electrically damaged component. Do not put the device in rice, apply external heat, use compressed air in a wet phone connector or insert objects into the port. Apple's liquid-alert guidance also advises against these methods for iPhone. An inspection is needed when exposure has caused a fault or internal damage is suspected.
How much does liquid-damage repair cost?
The model, extent of damage, required parts and testing determine the quote. Cleaning alone, replacing a keyboard and repairing several board circuits have different costs. Ask about the diagnostic charge when arranging intake. We explain the findings, proposed price, timing and material risks before you approve paid repair work; an online request is not repair authorization.
How long will the repair take?
Timing depends on disassembly, the number of affected systems, parts availability and the testing needed afterward. Corrosion or an intermittent fault can require more evaluation than a visibly damaged connector. Mashfix gives an estimated timeframe after assessment and updates you when the repair scope changes. We do not promise same-day completion before inspecting the device.
Can you recover photos or files from a wet device?
Recovery may be possible, but it depends on the device, storage condition, encryption and board damage. Restoring power and recovering data are different goals. Modern phones and some laptops may need the original board and security components to function for data access. A board replacement or reset can therefore be the wrong first step when the files are the priority.
Is liquid-damage repair covered by the 30-day warranty?
No. Liquid-damage repairs are excluded from the Mashfix 30-day limited repair warranty. Corrosion and related damage can cause later failures even after a device initially passes testing. The repair terms and required liquid-damage acknowledgment explain this before an approved repair proceeds.
Can I arrange pickup or drop-off from my DFW city?
Contact Mashfix with your city, device model and condition. We confirm a receiving location, visit availability and any pickup or drop-off arrangements and associated costs. Liquid-damage assessment and board repair require bench work; they are not performed as an onsite home visit. Call before traveling, including when checking temporary branch availability.
